At least two Kansas City Council members say they think the city’s efforts to settle the Ruth Bates discrimination lawsuit were compromised by information leaks from inside City Hall. As a result, the plaintiff’s attorneys knew how high the council had authorized City Attorney Galen Beaufort to go with Bates’ attorneys, they say.
