KITCHENER (Sep 20, 2008) -- An inmate at Kitchener's Grand Valley Institution is suing Corrections Canada, alleging that the prison is refusing to treat her after she was brutally beaten by two other inmates.

History Ph.D. candidate Timothy O'Brien filed a federal civil rights lawsuit Monday against the University of Houston and former interim president John Rudley. The lawsuit claims UH violated O'Brien's first amendment rights to free speech and that UH retaliated by filing false disciplinary charges against him.

NEW YORK—-The Food and Drug Administration announced on Friday that it is seeking a $2.2 million penalty against California-based cochlear implant manufacturer Advanced Bionics, LLC, for manufacturing violations that may have exposed recipients of its cochlear implants to unnecessary health risks.
