LITTLE ROCK - The city of Stamps is to receive $1.4 million in a settlement of a federal lawsuit it filed last year over contamination at the site of a defunct aluminum recycling plant still polluting groundwater there, a lawyer for the city said Thursday.

A three-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday in Denver denied an injunction to be issued on a 2005 Oklahoma parental notification law that requires physicians to notify in writing a parent or guardian of any minor seeking an abortion at least 48 hours before performing the procedure, the AP/KTEN reports (AP/KTEN, 8/25).
