Just as the the jury was deliberating in the wrongful death trial Thursday, lawyers on both sides reached a settlement and avoided a jury verdict. The City of Marshalltown was defending itself against a lawsuit that claims it created conditions on Feb. 3, 2008 that led to the death of Debra Marie Mundt. The settlement brought an end to the trial that began Tuesday.
